Position Summary: Primary medical provider for HS/MS student-athletes. Secondary provider to Pre-K-12 students and staff. Consultation with school staff on general health topics, nutrition, fitness, etc. Administer health-promotion workplace programs and activities.
Requirements:

- BOC approved Certified Athletic Trainer
- 5 years of work experience as an Athletic Trainer
- Certified CPR Instructor
- General health and fitness knowledge and experience
- Flexibility to cover events taking place on evenings and weekends

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary Role: Athletic Trainer
- Provide immediate care and first aid to injured HS/MS student-athletes
- On-site management and rehabilitation
- Communicate injury and student status to appropriate coaches, teachers, admin
- Coverage of home sporting events and practices
- Travel to away contests across Shanghai, China and Asia
- Evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation to all students on referral basis only
- Coordinate the student-athlete physicals
- Make appropriate physician referrals
- Assist coaches in evaluating and implementing conditioning programs and methods
- Maintain communication with parents on the care and treatment of their children
- File all necessary reports associated with injuries and/or incidents
- Maintain a daily treatment log
- Create and maintain a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks
- Secondary Role: Faculty/Staff Consultations
- Orthopedic evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of staff
- General health and nutrition counseling
- Orientation of staff to the fitness center
- Educate staff on basic principles education and program design
- Create and administer creative health-promoting programs and activities
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and vendors to implement cost-saving strategies
- Athletic Training Room
- Maintain all equipment and inventory
- Ordering supplies
- Anticipate and design any significant facility alterations annually
- Documentation
- Update EAP, Concussion and other Health related procedures annually
- Evaluate the need for and create additional procedures annually
- CPR, First Aid, and AED
- Assist nurses in annual Faculty/Staff emergency training
- Act as an administrator for CPR, First Aid, and AED
- Organize the CPR, First Aid, and AED certification of faculty, staff and coaches
- Collaborate with Health Office to maintain staff certification records
- Collaborate with Health Office to improve training and policies
- Miscellaneous responsibilities may include:
- Medical chaperone to HS Tribes or ES/MS Interim school trips
- Act as a resource for PE teachers and coaches
- Collaborate with the High School Applied Human Anatomy & Physiology course
- Liaison to staff on appropriate Shanghai-area news and events
