About College of Foreign Languages
The College of Foreign Languages at Beijing University of Technology consists of four academic and research units: the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, the University English Teaching Department, the Graduate Public English Teaching Department, and the Department of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. The college offers a first-level master’s degree program in Foreign Languages and Literatures and has a Beijing First-Class Undergraduate Program in English. It is responsible for teaching basic English courses to all doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students, while also offering general language courses in English, Japanese, Korean, French, and Russian. These courses cater to the diverse language learning needs of students and foster multicultural awareness and cross-cultural communication skills. The college plays a key role in nurturing high-quality, innovative international talents and contributes to the development of Beijing’s role as a center for international exchange, science and technology innovation, cultural development, and talent cultivation.
Job Description
Position: English Teaching staff
Work Type: full-time
Department/Unit: College of Foreign Languages, Undergraduate English Teaching Department
Duties:
- 1.No less than 16 teaching periods per week for undergraduates’ College English classes or for undergraduate English majors’ Oral English;
- 2.To revise and polish papers from faculty members or students, and some other English documents;
- 3.To participate in the construction of the English website and the polishing of pamphlets;
- 4.To do some other work such as joint research work with Chinese teachers;
- 5.To engage in additional activities to foster cultural understanding on campus.
Qualifications:
- 1.Master’s degree or above;
- 2.Majors in English linguistics and applied linguistics, language pedagogy, English literature, Higher Education etc.;
- 3.Over 3 years’ English teaching experience in China preferred;
- 4.Native speakers with a language teaching qualification preferred.
Terms of Appointment
Appointment to the above positions will be on a one-year fixed term basis, renewable by mutual agreement based on the teaching or working evaluation.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
