The Role:
The Co-Principal will collaborate closely with the Chinese Co-Principal to provide leadership, inspiration, and guidance to the teaching staff. This includes overseeing staff recruitment, development, performance management, and deployment. The role also involves offering professional leadership to plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate an innovative school program, ensuring the establishment of an optimal learning environment. All school programs and activities must align with established guidelines.

The Co-Principal will work effectively with all members of the organization to ensure that the curriculum is systematically and collaboratively implemented, in line with the school’s vision, mission, and philosophy, and aligned with international standards and benchmarks.

Additionally, the Co-Principal will be involved in the school’s day-to-day operations. As the school advances towards its long-term goals, the role will evolve to meet the dynamic needs of the school and its multicultural environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep commitment to delivering exceptional senior school education, backed by successful leadership experience and knowledge of international curricula.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Implement and execute the laws, regulations, and provisions of Chinese government and educational authorities; comply with and implement the policies and regulations of Xiehe Education Center, and the school; complete the educational tasks of the school.
2. Collaborate with the Chinese Co-Principal in formulating the strategies and objectives of school development.
3. Sign the annual target-based responsibility agreement and regularly report to the Steering Committee of Xiehe Education Center.
4. Handle daily administrative matters, ensuring processes and standards align with the Xiehe and the Board regulations. This includes overseeing expat staff recruitment, staffing, management, and evaluation according to the requirements of Xiehe Education Center. Establish and develop management systems for expat teachers; the preparation and review of the budget as specified by Xiehe Education Center.
5. Be responsible for school operation, including but not limited to pastoral, teaching and learning, research and teacher professional development.
6. Oversee curriculum design and implementation, including reinforcing curriculum management, establishing a curriculum evaluation system and ensuring teaching quality.
7. Formulate and implement admissions plans, collaborate with the Chinese Co-Principal on coordinated admissions and transition between schools, and conduct promotion initiatives to attract and enroll top students.
8. Support teacher interaction and exchange within SUIS schools, improving teaching quality, and promoting teacher evaluation and professional development.
9. Oversee student well-being, including mental health support and university admissions guidance, while fostering effective communication channels with parents. Actively facilitate internal promotion, and lead the CUG team to enhance the success rate of offers from the world top universities.
10. Collaborate with the Chinese Co-Principal in handling school emergencies and crisis situations, ensuring the health and safety of staff and students.
11. Manage the accreditation of the school international education credentials.
12. Report the school relevant conditions and issues to Xiehe Education Center to provide a basis for its decisions and seek necessary support and guidance.
13. Other tasks.

Candidate Requirements:
1. Master degree from an accredited university.
2. At least 5 years of certified teaching experience.
3. Preferably a minimum of 5 years of experience as a principal in world- class Schools.
4. IB certification or other academic certification holders preferred.
5. Familiarity with multicultural environments and an understanding of both Western and Chinese higher education systems is preferred.
6. Knowledge of international postsecondary courses as well as the needs and expectations of international students.
7. Experience with academic assessments, standards, and quality assurance procedures.
8. Experience and potential in developing academic programs.
9. Strong cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
10. Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop staff, while fostering a collaborative team environment.
11. Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills, with the initiative to shape curriculum and policy objectives.
12. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and effectively manage resources, even in situations with limited resources.
13. Willingness to learn and improve teaching and management practices.
14. High standards of high integrity, honesty, and ethical behaviour.
15. Enthusiastic, committed, and positive in attitude and standards.
