Position Summary:
This role focuses on developing and managing engagement that cultivates and maintains relationships with alumni & partners, implements strategic fundraising initiatives, and brings in donations from various sources to support Concordia International School Shanghai’s initiatives and growth. He/she supports in the following three areas: alumni engagement; partnership development; fundraising initiatives. This position requires to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years in a related field.
- Advanced degree or certification in fundraising or nonprofit management is a plus.
Experience
- Proven track record in alumni relations management, partnership & fundraising development within an educational setting.
- Experience in designing and implementing fundraising campaigns & activities, understanding donor motivations, and crafting persuasive fundraising strategies to meet financial goals.
- Experience in identifying, negotiating, and nurturing partnerships with businesses, foundations, and organizations that align with the school’s mission and values.
- Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently, from concept to execution, while adhering to deadlines and quality standards
- Experience working in a multinational and a multi-cultural team environment preferred
- Strong knowledge and network in potential donors, corporate entities and partners

- Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate and maintain relationships with alumni, partners, donors, and various stakeholders within and outside the school community.
- Networking: Ability to network effectively, connecting with alumni, potential donors, corporate entities, and community partners to foster collaborations and support for the school.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning to develop long-term plans for alumni engagement, partnership development, and fundraising initiatives.
- Database & Analytical Skills: Familiarity with donor management databases, fundraising software, and project management tools to efficiently track interactions, donations, and campaign progress.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese to articulate the school’s mission, fundraising initiatives, and partnership opportunities compellingly to diverse audiences.
- Team player: ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with the U.S. educational system
- Sensitive to, and deep understanding of Asian & Chinese culture and behavior difference
- Flexibility and resilience in navigating dynamic environments, adjusting strategies based on fundraising trends, donor interests, and evolving alumni needs.
- Ability to inspire and lead volunteer committees or groups supporting alumni engagement, partnerships, and fundraising activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Alumni Engagement
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies/programs to engage Concordia alumni worldwide and increase the pool size.
- Plan and coordinate alumni events, reunions, and networking opportunities, both locally and internationally.
- Establish & maintain effective communication to keep alumni informed about school developments, achievements, and opportunities for involvement, fostering a vibrant and active alumnus community.
Partnership Development
- Identify, cultivate, and nurture partnerships with corporations, foundations, and organizations aligned with Concordia’s mission and values to drive school reputation and opportunity for fundraising.
Fundraising Initiatives
- Design and implement comprehensive fundraising campaigns and initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic objectives and fundraising target.
- Cultivate relationships with potential donors, including individuals, businesses, and grant-making entities.
- Collaborate with the MarCom team to create compelling fundraising materials, proposals, and donor communications.
- Collaborate with event team to ensure excellent offline event experience.
- Ensure timely acknowledging contributions throughs communication and SWAG.
Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, contributions, and fundraising activities for alumni, donors, and partnership.
- Generate monthly reports on progress and outcomes for alumni engagement, fundraising and partnership.
- Keep track of project status, spending vs. budget to timely identify potential issues and/or opportunities in the project.
- Other projects as assigned.
