Job Description
Harrow Shanghai is a high-performing and market-leading international British curriculum school located in one of the most dynamic and exciting 21st century cities in the world.
The fourth school in the prestigious Harrow family of highly renowned schools in the Asia region, Harrow Shanghai provides an independent education from Early Years (18 month entry) to Upper Sixth within a high specification, modern and purpose-built campus just 35 minutes from the epicenter of the diverse, historically-rich and cosmopolitan metropolis of Shanghai.
The School combines the enduring core elements of the educational philosophy, practice and traditions of Harrow School in London, alongside the very modern international mindedness of a diverse and ambitious pupil body.
Officially opened by HRH Prince Edward, the School was launched in September 2016 and its roll is growing annually throughout all phases: Early Years, Pre-prep, Prep and Senior Schools. The pupils, who are simply a delight to teach, follow the English National Curriculum and go on to study IGCSEs and A Levels. Upper Sixth leavers progress onto many of the most competitive universities across the globe, including Oxbridge.
Harrow is, however, about much more than simply outstanding academic results and our pupils excel in a multitude of fields including music, drama, sport and the arts, as well as involving themselves in service to the local community.
The School is seeking a well-qualified, highly capable and ambitious Early Years Class Teacher, to commence in post in August 2022 within our bespoke Harrow Early Years Centre. Applicants with experience across the range of Pre-nursery, Nursery and Reception teaching will be considered.
Ambitious applicants should note that a responsibility role as Year Group Leader may be made available to a candidate with a strong track-record of previous impact.
Successful applicants can expect a generous salary, a performance-related bonus, accommodation, medical and flight benefits, and an unusual 100% tuition fees remission for up to two dependents (50% for any further children thereafter).
Moreover, working within the highly prestigious Harrow Group of schools, which works very closely with Harrow London and is expanding rapidly, will provide an ideal opportunity for career development and promotion, not least through the recently launched Harrow Academy for Professional Learning and partnerships with the likes of the Chartered College of Teaching.
Candidates should note that in terms of the ongoing global pandemic, Shanghai is presently one of the safest cities on the planet. Thankfully, Shanghai daily life, in the very widest sense, is very normal with no social restrictions in place and the Harrow Shanghai staff are enjoying the many freedoms this affords them.
