About Léman International School

Léman International School Chengdu (LIS) opened in the fall of 2009. Our school serves the children of expatriate families from age 2 to 18 years in a Pre-Nursery to Year 13 program. Our purpose built campus occupies 50 acres (20 hectares) in the Tianfu New Area of Chengdu and has capacity for approximately 1,000 students. Chengdu is a modern city in Western China famous for excellent food and the home of the Giant Panda.  Many interesting destinations in South East Asia are a short flight away. The city is affordable with a lower cost of living than many comparable cities in China, so there is good savings potential for teachers.
Léman boasts world class facilities on an extensive campus.  These include fully equipped modern classrooms, science laboratories, an art studio, music studio, I.T. rooms, gymnasium, 25 meter indoor swimming pool and large outdoor sports facilities.

Our student body represents more than 30 nationalities and the school provides international curricula with the commitment to support students’ return to their home country. The Primary School curriculum is based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), currently provided in 1,000 schools in 65 countries.   Year 7 to 11 utilizes the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). LIS is an IB World School and offers the IB Diploma Programme for students in Year 12 and 13.

LIS is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
