Purpose of Job
• To work in the EEP) classroom to assist the teaching and learning of students with a low to no English language proficiency
Support for Learning and Teaching
• Supporting EEP students’ personalised learning
• Support students’ learning of English as an additional language, tailoring support to match the learner’s needs.
• To support students to become independent, co-operative and collaborative learners.
• Contribute to assessing students’ progress and support them in reviewing their own learning.
• Identify and remove barriers to students’ learning.
• Support the teacher to adapt and customise curriculum materials.
Meeting the student’s/students’ additional needs
• Support the learning and emotional well-being of students in the EEP provision and beyond.
• Promote student’s well-being.
• Contribute to the management of EEP students’ behaviour and encourage the student to conform to the School’s expectations related to behaviour and Ethos.
• Support students with EEP to access extended school activities.
Standards and Quality Assurance
• Support the aims and ethos of the School and EEP classes by behaviours which display concern for the student/students as a whole person, tact, discretion, confidentiality and the willingness to work as a member of a team.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance
• Work collaboratively with teachers.
• Attend team and staff meetings as requested
• Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the Heads of Prep School
