Job Brief: We are seeking an experienced ESL Teacher to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will organize engaging courses for non-native speakers, employing diverse activities and teaching methods to enhance their speaking, writing, and comprehension skills. You will create individualized educational plans tailored to each student’s unique needs and evaluate their progress through homework and assessments. A key aspect of your role will involve building positive relationships with parents and collaborating with educational staff to foster a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare classroom materials and course content.
• Assign homework and exams; grade assessments.
• Develop individualized plans for students with special requirements (e.g., learning disabilities).
• Research and implement new teaching methodologies for ESL instruction.
• Foster a supportive and positive classroom atmosphere.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
• Communicate student progress to parents.
• Coach and support fellow educators on strategies to support students struggling with language acquisition.
Requirements and Skills:
• Previous experience as an ESL teacher or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of various ESL teaching methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Calm and resilient demeanor.
• ESL or TESOL certification; Bachelor’s degree in English Language, English Literature, or a related field.
• Strong patience and cultural awareness.
Qualifications:
• Certified ESL teacher.
• Demonstrated success teaching middle and high school students.
• Ability to effectively use proven English language development strategies.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and creating effective lesson plans.
• Familiarity with English Language Proficiency Standards and instructional best practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and maintain communication with parents/guardians.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
• Experience in providing targeted linguistic intervention for emergent bilinguals.
• Ability to model and coach teachers in ESL instructional practices.
• Knowledge of technology integration in the classroom.
