BASIS International & Bilingual Schools China is seeking candidates for a Head of School position for the 2027-28 school year. The Head of School must be an accomplished public speaker who can tell the story of the school. As the chief representative of the school, they will play a crucial role in student, teacher, and manager recruitment work. Heads of School are expected to work professionally and collaboratively with peers across the network under the management of the Chief Executive Head of Schools on strategic and operational matters of concern to all the schools.

Role Details: The school’s success depends upon the Head of School’s ability to recruit and retain a world-class faculty and management team. It is the responsibility of the Head of School to create a supportive working environment for all teachers and managers to allow them to meet high network expectations for teaching quality.  The key responsibility of the Head of School is to curate learning excellence in the classrooms, and to ensure the school fulfills the academic mission of BASIS International & Bilingual Schools China. 
The Head of School’s time is divided between: Hiring and retaining a strong faculty and management team. Managing the division heads, who have day-to-day operational management of their divisions; teachers; and the Director of College Admissions. Providing guidance, coordination, coaching, and support to Heads of Department, Chairs, and teachers in their teaching activities, as well as provide supervision of those roles. 
The Head of School must be comfortable working with clear, numerical measures of school performance and it is the responsibility of the Head of School to ensure that their school meets the annual targets established by the Chief Executive Head of Schools. 
The Head of School must be able to manage significant community concerns related to educational operations that come before them in a thoughtful, caring, and adept manner while maintaining the integrity of the school’s program and the BASIS International & Bilingual Schools China expectations. The Head of School must work in close collaboration with the Head of Operations and under the direction of the General Manager and the Chief Executive Head of Schools. 

Work Experience
Who We’re Looking For: A Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or PhD preferred. 3-5 years of leadership experience in K-12 school environment. Demonstrated strength in administrative experience. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
