KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ACADEMIC STANDARDS

• Be a model of consistent, effective teaching with secondary art and design.

• Provide leadership in teaching and learning within secondary art and design subject areas.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning in secondary art and design, monitoring

students’ progress towards meeting agreed targets across the school.

• Promote the performance and progression of secondary art and design teachers, assisting the

Director of Arts/school leadership team in the secondary art and design staff appraisal

programme.

• Promote pupils’ performance in secondary art and design through public and internal

examinations and all forms of assessment/showcasing.
