- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other educational professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and tailor support strategies for students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing learning objectives and adapting instructional materials as needed.
- Foster an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment, promoting students’ emotional well-being and social integration.
- Assist students in developing essential life skills, independence, and self-confidence, both within the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
- Support students with sensory, communication, or mobility challenges, ensuring their full participation in all aspects of the school day.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, behaviours, and achievements, and communicate these observations to the teaching team and parents/guardians as required.
- Collaborate with the school’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator to implement effective strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and continuous professional development opportunities to enhance skills and remain up-to-date with best practices in special education.
- Contribute actively to team meetings by sharing insights and strategies to promote student success and well-being.
- Coordinate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student development and progress.
- Assist in planning and organizing special events, outings, and activities that align with students’ individual goals and needs.
- Uphold the school’s policies and procedures, fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
- Provide purposeful and regular feedback to students and teachers, both verbally and in writing.
- Undertake bus supervision duties as directed by the School Leadership Team (SLT).
- Complete all safeguarding training as required by Nord Anglia Education and the school.
- Identify and report student concerns to the appropriate staff members and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Undertake school bus and Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) bus duties as needed.
- Actively support and engage in school life beyond the classroom to enhance students’ learning experiences.
- Uphold the school’s aims and ethos.
- Support colleagues and contribute positively to a collaborative work environment.
- Attend team and staff meetings as required.
- Adhere to agreed policies and procedures.
- Maintain positive relationships with parents and the local community.
- Proactively address health and safety matters.
- Set an example in terms of dress code, punctuality, and attendance.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development activities.
- Assist with student supervision outside of lesson times when required.
- Attend and contribute to meetings regarding individual student needs where necessary.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as requested by the Principal or SLT.
- Engage in continuous professional development through the creation and implementation of a Personal Development Plan.
