– Assist the PE teacher in planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate physical education lessons. Assist in assessing and monitoring students’ progress in physical education classes.
– Support the organization and setup of sports equipment and facilities for PE classes and extracurricular activities.
– Provide individualized support to students who may require additional assistance or encouragement in developing their physical skills.
– Assist in extra curricula activities and sporting fixtures, that may involve travel to other schools and cities and weekend work.
– Support a clean and organised working environment within the PE Department. This includes but is not limited to the Sports halls, all storerooms, the pool area, changing rooms and office space.
– Ensure all equipment is in good working order and stored in its correct place. This includes maintaining an inventory under the supervision of the Head of PE.
– Provide administrative assistance including photocopying and development of teaching resources.
– Support the PE department as required.
– Assist with supervising students during break and lunch times as per the school timetable
– Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.
– Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.
– To fully support the aims and ethos of the school
– Attend team and staff meetings where necessary.
– Follow agreed policies and procedures especially with regards to any accidents and injuries relating to sports or games.
– As appropriate, look after sick/hurt/upset students and attend to physical needs where appropriate.
– Work to maintain positive relationships with parents and the local community.
– Attend relevant training activities where required.
– Where appropriate assist with the supervision of students outside lesson times
– Where required, to attend and contribute to meetings regarding individual students.
– Undertake other duties and responsibilities that the Principal or SLT may request from time to time.
– Undertake school bus duties if required.
