Primary Visual Arts Teaching Assistant

OBJECTIVES
To assist Visual Arts teachers (to the end of the school year) in preparing rooms,
lesson materials, assist teachers in preparing subject activities, assist students
in completing their work as needed, filling in purchase orders to replenish
teaching supplies as necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for ordering materials and equipment.
2. Organising stock and materials.
3. Setting up classrooms.
4. Maintaining and testing equipment to ensure its normal use and the safety
of students.
5. Assisting teachers in the instruction of students.
6. Assisting teachers in the implementation of teaching plans.
7. Translating articles about art department events.
8. Inventory and replenish art supplies as needed.
9. Maintenance of all equipment within the art rooms and give regular report
to teachers.
10.Assisting teachers in procurement and conducting annual bulk order.
11.Keeping rooms always clean and tidy.
12.Assisting in event management of art shows held within and outside the
school as directed by Head of Department, specific event management
duties include but are not limited to – liaising with galleries to host art
shows, designing invitation cards, catalogues, and banners for the show.
13.Assisting in preparing art and design trips.
14.Taking over class when teachers are absent.
15.Participating and assisting in art-related events.
16.Other assigned work as requested by the Head of Department.
BASIC QUALIFICATION
• Education: Bachelor’s degree.
• Major: Visual Arts, Visual designs, Industrial design related subject.
• Language: Native Chinese speaker and fluent in English, minimum CET-6,
familiar with Art terminology and able to accurately express meanings.
• Teaching Qualification Certificate for Primary or Junior High
• Support Huili values.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2-year relevant experience.
EXPERTISE
• Outstanding communication in English and Chinese.
• Familiar with the use and maintenance of art equipment.
• Familiar with different types of materials and techniques used at the elementary
visual arts level.
• Familiar with purchasing channels of equipment, tools and materials.
• Familiar with Office software.
PREFERRED APTITUDES
• International and bilingual school working experience is preferred.
• Cross-cultural working experience is preferred.
• Demonstrating practice that represents the Huili values at all times (courage,
integrity, kindness, respect and responsibility).
• Strong passion for elementary education.
• Detailed-oriented and disciplined in time management.
• Warm, helpful personality.
• Strong mindset for continuous improvement to meet or exceed expectations.
