Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum Support
The ESL teacher will provide curriculum support evidenced by:
- A familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum as it pertains to the ESL Teacher’s assignment.
- Ability to assist students with the completion of assigned tasks and classwork.
- The ability to adapt and differentiate materials in collaboration with the teacher.
- Under the guidance and direction of the classroom teacher, instructional support is provided to individuals and small groups of students.
- Assist in implementing instructional plans and provide support and supervision while the teacher is engaged with others.
- Assist in monitoring student progress towards set learning goals and provide feedback, guidance and reinforce taught concepts where necessary.
Requirements:
Basic:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in an ESL-related subject.
- PGCE (with QTS preferable)/PGCEi or an equivalent teaching license from home country.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent successful teaching experience, preferably in an international school.
- Strong English and Chinese Skills- other languages spoken are a bonus.
- Strong organisational skills.
- A lifelong learner who is willing to learn and use basic teaching methods, techniques, and procedures in the classroom.
