The Chemistry and General Science Teacher plays a vital role in guiding students through the rigorous and intellectually stimulating curriculum of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) Chemistry and IB MYP Science. This position requires an enthusiastic educator who is committed to fostering students’ deep understanding of these disciplines and their real-world applications. The teacher will engage students in hands-on laboratory experiments, theoretical learning, and inquiry-based investigations, embodying the school’s INQUIRE spirit. Job Purpose:
Chemistry and General Science Teachers are responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing high-quality lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme (DP) Chemistry and IB MYP Science frameworks. They must uphold rigorous academic standards to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum. Beyond classroom instruction, teachers are required to collaborate closely with colleagues in the science department to ensure curriculum continuity and progression across MYP and DP grade levels. They will primarily engage students through hands-on laboratory work, theoretical lessons, and in-depth discussions, fostering critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving skills. As the main point of contact for student progress, teachers will build strong relationships with students and parents, facilitating consistent and effective communication to provide comprehensive support throughout the academic year, and nurturing the SUCCEED and ACT values in students’ growth journey.

General Requirements for International Teaching Positions
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject area
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE)
- Minimum two years’ experience of classroom teaching in mainstream education sector
- Previous experience of teaching the IB curriculum is preferred, high potential candidates without IB experience might be considered
- Well-versed in various teaching resources including digital tools to support and enhance teaching and learning
- Sensitivity to the cultural differences
- A willingness to actively participate in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes
