We are looking for a highly qualified, dedicated, creative, adaptable and enthusiastic teacher of Humanities for August 2026 start. The successful candidate will be someone who has the ability to lead and inspire children, as well as the willingness to support the ambition and values of the school. Candidates with additional subject specialisms, for example Humanities, Geography or History, are particularly encouraged to apply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teach Humanities at IGCSE level
2. Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in Humanities team and the wider school
through sharing resources and good practice, lesson observation, collaborative teaching,
mentoring and active participation in continuing professional development
3. Safeguard and promote the welfare of children
4. Support the school’s aims and objectives for teaching and learning
5. Plan and prepare courses and lessons
6. Teach, according to their educational need, the students assigned to you
7. Set and mark work (including internal examinations) to be carried out by the students in
school or elsewhere
8. Monitor and record student progress and achievement as per school policy
9. Set appropriately challenging targets for students
10. Ensure students requiring learning support are supported in following their Individual
Education Plan and that their needs are being met
11. Organize assessments and examinations as required
12. Write reports as required
13. Strive to foster amongst students, a love of learning and an ongoing thirst for knowledge
14. Collaborate with other teachers to plan lessons together, share ideas, approaches and
professional knowledge
15. Keep up-to-date with the Head of Department and subject specific developments and
contribute curriculum knowledge to the department
16. Keep up-to-date with wider educational research internationally
GENERAL NOTES

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
QUALIFICATIONS
·Essential: Minimum Bachelor Degree in a relevant subject area
·Desirable: PGCE / QTS or equivalent
LANGUAGES
·Fluent in English.
WORKING EXPERIENCE
·Minimum two years’ teaching experience at a UK or international school
·IGCSE Humanities teaching experience is a must
