VCE English Teacher

Salary: 25k-35k/month

Job Description:

The role of VCE English Teacher (Grade 10-12) is essentially to build and maintain a successful A-level Programme within the school by providing an educational atmosphere conductive to learning and developing through the process of inquiry. The Teacher will be responsible for teaching the following subjects:

Group 1: Language Acquisition: English
Group 2: Australian culture

Main Duties and Responsibilities：

1. Take responsibility for a high school class, supporting, nurturing and taking a genuine interest in the holistic of all children in that class
2. Design, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to suit the individual needs of all students in line with the Teacher’s Guidance
3. Assess and monitor student progress and provide targets so that all learners can see success and improve
4. Invigilating during exam seasons / Examiners for oral tests
5. Supervising Self-study sessions/night study sessions
6. Collaborate with other teachers to share new ideas, approaches and professional knowledge
7. Liaise with the Academic Director and Head of English to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
8. Contribute to the extra-curricular activities programme and participate in school activities such as assemblies, evening events, conferences
9. Maintain constant awareness of the needs of children to whom English is a second language
