About Hefei Thomas School
Hefei Thomas School (HTS, Chinese: 合肥安生托马斯学校) is located in the city of Hefei, the provincial capital of Anhui province, in eastern central China. It is one of four Thomas School branches established in the country, the others being in Shanghai, Nanjing and Jinan. The school offers comprehensive education from Grade to Grade 12 and accepts expatriate and Chinese students. Currently, the school enrols approximately 260 students and employs 1 54 faculty and staff members. All the teachers have a Bachelor’s degree, with 44% holding a Master’s degree or higher. About one-fifth of our teachers have studied overseas.
Hefei Thomas School was founded in early 2018 with support from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in the USA and the academic resources from Cambridge University and Stanford University. The school integrates proven Chinese educational methods with innovative teaching philosophies developed in the world’s leading universities, emphasizing critical thinking, project-based learning (PBL) and scientific research. The curriculum includes options for A-level (UK) and AP (US) instruction, designed specifically to prepare Hefei Thomas graduates for continued higher education at international institutions worldwide.
