Phoenix City International School (PCIS) was founded in 2003, and is one of the branch schools operated by Bright Scholar Education Group. The main campus is currently home to the International Primary School, the Bilingual Primary School, the Bilingual Middle School and the International Middle School. The main language of instruction is Chinese but all schools offer a comprehensive English Language Curriculum. PCIS aims to educate the whole child by building CHARACTER, enriching KNOWLEDGE, and providing opportunities to PRACTICE these skills. Job Profile:

International Primary Section(PYP) – 35 hours per week
you will stay with one class and work closely with a Chinese English co-teacher. You will work 35 hours a week, which comprises of class time and office time in which you will plan, have meetings, research and report.

1-Be prepared for each class and arrive on time for each class
2-Collaborate with co-teacher in planning co-taught classes
3-Create classroom displays and display students’ work
4-Mark, grade and give feedback on students’ assignments
5-Document lesson plans and other evidence of inquiry based teaching, upload these to the server
6-Create and maintain a safe and peaceful learning environment for students
7-Follow learning objectives already set out, suggest improvements if any are observed
8-Lead English Time activities daily and be present and participative during Activity Time
9-Bilingual Primary / Junior high school: you can choose to take over the extra class in Bilingual Primary and Junior high school when your position is PYP teacher as above, within 35 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Document lesson plans and other evidence of inquiry-based teaching, upload these to the server
  • Create and maintain a safe and peaceful learning environment for students
  • Follow learning objectives already set out, suggest improvements if any are observed
  • Lead English Time activities daily and be present and participative during Activity Time
  • Promote inquiry based learning and critical thinking
  • Play an active role during meetings, listen and contribute ideas
  • Attend school organized professional development workshops
  • Share resources and ideas with peers

Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Professional work ethic
  • Bachelors degree
  • 2 years teaching experience
  • TEFL/TESOL/PGCE certification
  • Native English speaker
